Well Dweller

The matchstick

Glimmer's matchstick lights the kingdom and aids in combat. Steam about copy uses those two jobs as the whole combat sentence. Achievements then add flaming vessels, a juggle, kill counts, a water vessel, and learning to soar. Demo news later names bubbles and oil-flask healing. Steam never prints damage numbers or a full ability tree. Steam about copy never names a sword, bow, or second melee tool. Flying High, Into the Deep, Pyromaniac, Bouncing Bottles, Warming Up, and On Fire are the achievement verbs that expand the one-sentence store description into a real kit. Demo news then adds bubbles and an oil flask with coyote time on the heal.

Light first, then the fight

Steam says lighting the matchstick illuminates the world and aids in combat. That order matters. The still of a skull cavern with a small orange flame is the visual version of the same sentence: the match is the lamp and the weapon in rooms that would otherwise be black. Top Hat's page does not add a second weapon. If you are looking for a sword name, Steam did not print one.

Kyle told 80.lv that every ability in Well Dweller is meant to change movement throughout, unlike some Crypt Custodian gates that only open a door. Read that as a design claim from the developer interview, not as a numbered skill tree. New abilities expand the map, which is the Steam about line that sits next to "battle terrifying beasts."

Flying High is Learn to soar. Into the Deep is Gain access to a water vessel. Those two Steam tasks are the only named movement unlocks on the achievement list. They are not mapped to rooms here because no official map coordinates exist. Use them as proof that water and air are real tools, then go back to the stills when you want to see the match against stone.

Flaming vessels, kills, and the flask

Pyromaniac is Throw 100 flaming vessels. Bouncing Bottles is Juggle a flaming vessel 10 times without it breaking. Warming Up is Kill 100 enemies. On Fire is Kill 500 enemies. Those four rows are the combat mill on 41 Steam Achievements. They tell you vessels can be thrown, juggled, and broken, and that kill totals are tracked in two steps.

The April 30 demo update added coyote time on oil flask healing and a bubble aiming UI after a silent crash fix. The June 14 Demo v 1.031 notes extra healing in optional challenge rooms plus bubble onboarding and aim assist. Oil flask healing is therefore a demo-era tool Kyle patched in public, not a store-page bullet. Details live on Well Dweller demo so the patch log lives on that dated route.

The water vessel is a separate unlock from the flaming vessels. Into the Deep does not say the water vessel puts out fires or fills a meter. It only says you gain access. A dual-wield theory is not sitting on top of that one line.

Soar, bubbles, and what is still unpublished

Learn to soar is one of the rarer Steam tasks, with a low global unlock percent compared with the first story page. That rarity is a player statistic, not a difficulty essay. Combined with Kyle's movement-first interview note, soar is the aerial half of the kit the achievements bother to name.

Bubbles are a demo patch subject. Kyle wrote that he changed aiming, onboarding, and later level design around the bubble mechanic for Next Fest. The full game store page does not reprint the word bubble. Treat bubbles as a documented demo tool that may or may not keep the same tutorial, not as a missing wiki page that needs a fake diagram.

Official damage numbers, stamina, and a complete ability tree were not published on Steam, Top Hat, or the interview. The correct size of this page is the list above. For storefronts and the Windows spec, continue on Platforms. The first-party trailer still on this route is Glimmer moving past a giant skull with the match lit, which is the combat picture Steam already sold.

Using the match next to trinkets and the demo

Trinkets mix-and-match on top of the matchstick. They do not replace it. Fully Stocked can wait until you have soar and a water vessel, or it can come first. Steam did not lock those rows to each other.

Demo bubbles and flask coyote time are the public patch verbs for aiming and healing. They are dated to April and June 2026. The September full release is a different product stamp. Read the demo page when you want those dates, then come back here for the achievement names that still describe the live kit.

Pyromaniac at 100 thrown vessels and On Fire at 500 kills are long mills. Bouncing Bottles at 10 juggles is a skill check on the same object. Warming Up at 100 kills is the first mill. Those four rows plus soar and the water vessel are the entire named combat kit on Steam.

Steam about copy, the achievement board, Steam news, and Kyle Thompson's YouTube are the sources for light, vessels, soar, bubbles, and the flask. No damage table is attached because none of those sources print one. Throw 100, juggle 10, kill 100, kill 500, learn to soar, and gain a water vessel remain the complete named list.

The official trailer still on this route shows Glimmer beside a skull with the match lit. That frame is the combat picture Steam already sold. Use it with Pyromaniac, Bouncing Bottles, Warming Up, On Fire, Flying High, and Into the Deep as the named kit, then jump to Trinkets when you want mix-and-match on top.
