A tiny bird with one match

Steam's English about text is the binding identity for the player character. You play as Glimmer, a tiny bird armed with a matchstick, who must burn the wicked queen to save his family. Top Hat repeats the line. Lighting the match illuminates the world and aids combat, which is why the matchstick page sits next to this one instead of being folded into a generic combat hub.

The well is not flavor text. Opening copy places Glimmer deep within a forest, at the bottom of a well, as the only creature brave enough to kill the queen. That geography matters for how the game starts: you leave safety with a small flame and walk into a hostile illustrated kingdom. The library hero art on this page is that walk, not a title-screen collage.

Glimmer is male in the official English copy ("save his family"). Japanese Steam names the product 井戸の鳥 (Well Dweller), literally the well bird, which tracks the same identity without inventing a second protagonist. Chinese Steam uses 黯井微光 (Well Dweller). Those local names belong in the language switcher's brand label, not in a second English H1.

The hunter and the snatched flock

Steam says sheltered siblings were snatched by a crazed hunter. The achievement Snatched Up is simply "Meet the Hunter." That is all the first-party text gives you for the hunter as a person: a meeting, a raid, and a reason Glimmer is out of the well. Steam never prints a hunter name, camp, or drop table.

Together at Last is "Reunite the flock." Full Flock is a different task: return 20 spirits. Do not mash those two counters together. Spirits are their own achievement chain (Solo Spirit, Halfway There, Full Flock). The named birds below are collect tasks with their own icons on 41 Steam Achievements.

Because Steam never publishes a complete unnamed-sibling roster or portraits per bird, the roster stays a field list. Each row is a name Steam printed plus the achievement that proves the name. If a bird is not on that list, it is not a slug here.

Named birds Steam actually lists

Egbert is Littlest Bird: Collect Egbert. Thimble and Thistle share Double Trouble: Collect Thimble and Thistle. Magda is In the Dollmaker's House: Collect Magda, with the Dollmaker's House also used as a story-page set on Story pages. Those four names plus Glimmer and the unnamed sheltered siblings are the flock Steam named.

The Dollmaker is off-screen in achievement text. Magda's collection task and The Tattered Doll pages ("Collect all pages for The Dollmaker's House") are the only first-party hooks. Ilda and Looter are underbelly NPCs, not birds; they live on Dwellers even though their Steam still is the same screenshot this route is allowed to host.

When you finish the hunt, Steam still frames the ending as family. Burn the queen, reunite the flock, restore peace to a wretched kingdom. The named birds are how you measure that promise without turning every collect into a fake biography.

Together at Last is Reunite the flock, a different counter from Full Flock's 20 spirits. Magda's house is also a story-page set, so a player can collect Magda without finishing The Tattered Doll, or the other way around. Steam printed both tasks as two names, not one doll chapter.

How Glimmer connects to the rest of the kit

The matchstick page is the combat and movement twin of this roster. Soar and the water vessel are Glimmer tools with achievement names, not extra birds. Trinkets customize the kit after you have it. None of those systems rename Glimmer.

Ilda and Looter are company in the underbelly, not siblings. They share a Steam still with this route and still belong on Dwellers. The queen is the hunt on Queendom. The hunter is the raid that explains why the siblings are gone. Keep those three antagonists in their own sentences.

Together at Last is the reunion row. Littlest Bird, Double Trouble, and In the Dollmaker's House are the named collects that feed it. If a guide tells you there are twelve named birds, Steam did not print the extra eight. Play from the seven records on this page and the 41-icon ledger.

Steam about copy, the achievement board, and Top Hat are the three sources at the foot of this roster. Named birds without those citations do not get rows.
